Sydney is originally from Texas and has lived all over the Lone Star State. Raised in DFW, college at TAMU, summers in Austin, fell in love in El Paso and had both her children in Houston. Sydney lived in Western PA for almost 5 years, and has now moved to the Suburbs of Chicago. She holds a BS is Psychology and her MA in Biblical Counseling is from Dallas Theological Seminary. She later went back and got her MBA with a Management focus from Dallas Baptist University. She has been licensed in Texas as a LPC Supervisor for over twenty years. She has worked in several mental health environments. These include foster care, community mental health, and psychiatric hospitals. One of her favorite things is supervising students and associate counselors. Sydney benefited from some amazing supervisors. She also had some not so great ones. She wants to help bring more excellent counselors into the world. Her specialty is Christian Counseling working with adults with depression and anxiety and also couples to strengthen their marriage. Sydney use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy but also leaves room to meet the client where they are at with what they need. She is an approved Gottman Seven Principles Leader and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and has completed the Basic Training for EMDR. She is also excited to offer Brainspotting as of June 2026. Sydney also has a certificate in Tele-Mental Health and Digital Ethics through the Zur Institute. She prays she can be an empty vessel in the counseling room. She prays God would be the One who is seen and heard, not her.
Sydney lives with her husband and her two teenagers, two cats (Dolly and Winston) and two dogs (Bubba and Beau). Her hobbies include reading, working out in the basement gym, and drinking coffee.
